Nestled in the heart of the historic VQ (Victorian Quarter), Thompsons Restaurant and Microbrewery is housed in the iconic and historic Thompsons Bakery, founded in 1826 on McCurtain St., Cork.

Thompsons Restaurant and Microbrewery offer a spacious, historic dining experience, and can cater for groups up to 130 people.

We have a range of options to suit group bookings, from small to large. Our Head Chef Cormac Lynch has created a menu that serves only the best Irish produce and fresh ingredients. At the end of the day, it's all about the beef. And nobody knows more about beef in Cork than Jack McCarthy Butchers, of Kanturk. McCarthy’s is one of the most celebrated and respected butchers in Ireland. They select the finest cuts for Thompsons Steak House, which are hung in our specially designed fridge to dry age for a minimum of 30 days.

We can create bespoke events, set menus and work to specific budgets where required for events. You can be assured of excellent service and delicious food that will impress your clients and delight family and friends. The restaurant is also available for exclusive hire for celebrations and corporate events. We cater to Corporate Groups, Charity Events, Tour Groups, Wedding Day 2's, Christenings, Communions, Confirmations and much more.
